Sergio began his acting career in Mexico City, where he made several appearances on soap operas and advertisements targeted at the Latin market in the United States. Sergio was born in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
He eventually relocated to Vancouver in order to pursue more significant roles in television and film. In a short period of time, Sergio has played recurring roles in popular series like Supernatural, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, and Rush.
