The Member of Parliament for Sekondi and Minister for Tourism and Creative Arts, Lawyer Andrew Egyapa Mercer, through his non-profit organization, Egyapa Care Foundation, has shown great generosity by presenting cash grants to 420 traders in Sekondi.
Each trader received GHC1,000 to help boost their businesses, with the initiative serving as part of the MP’s 51st birthday celebration.
These traders, who have long been struggling with inadequate capital, were grateful for the support received from their Member of Parliament. Andrew Egyapa Mercer expressed that the foundation was established to assist traders and other groups within his constituency. Since its inception in 2020, the foundation has provided support in the form of sewing machines, hair dryers, carpentry tools, mason tools, welding tools, and more to various individuals and associations in need.
The grants were distributed without any political party affiliation, highlighting the MP’s commitment to assisting all traders in need of support. Mercer emphasized the importance of utilizing the funds wisely to maximize its impact on their businesses. The Queen Mother of the Sekondi Market, Nana Krah, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, acknowledging the MP’s attentiveness to the challenges faced by women in the constituency.
As the recipients express their appreciation for the much-needed financial assistance, the Egyapa Care Foundation continues to make a positive impact on the lives of traders and other groups in the Sekondi constituency.
