The 23rd edition of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards has been held in Accra, with Citi FM’s Bernard Koku Avle being adjudged the Journalist of the Year for 2017.

The host of the station’s ‘Citi Breakfast Show’ succeeds Kwame Sefa Kayi of Peace FM who won the ultimate award for 2016.

Bernard Avle will receive a three-bedroom house, an SUV and a cash prize.

Mr. Avle holds a Bachelors of Arts in Economics, an MBA in Marketing from the Warwick Business School and is an ALIWA Fellow, an Edward R Murrow Fellow of Journalism and a Chevening Scholar.
