At the 2017 Generali Open Kitzbühel in August, Ofner pulled off another shock by defeating first seed Pablo Cuevas as a wildcard in the second round in front of his local crowd. He next defeated Renzo Olivo to go to the semifinals, where he was defeated by JoãoSousa.
