British singer Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel, better known by his stage name Seal, was born on February 19, 1963. Seal’s face has noticeable scars as a result of discoid lupus erythematosus, a kind of lupus that damages the skin and causes massive scars.

Throughout his career, Seal has received numerous honors, including three Brit Awards, for which he was named Best British Male in 1992.

Additionally, he has received an MTV Video Music Award and four Grammy Awards. For his songs “Killer” (1990) and “Crazy,” Seal won two Ivor Novello Awards from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers, and Authors for Best Song Musically and Lyrically (1991).

In the 1980s, Seal briefly performed as a singer in neighborhood nightclubs and taverns before joining the British funk group.

He briefly played in a blues band in Thailand before leaving the group and traveling solo across India. Julian Bunster, a friend and then-model, let him crash on his couch when he traveled back to England.
