Saweetie grabs first Grammy nomination – and it’s a brace

Rapper Saweetie has had her first taste of Grammy since kicking off her blazing career in 2016.

The Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 64th Grammy on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, and among the list was Saweetie. Her 2021 hit song “Best Friend” guaranteed her the nod.

She was nominated for two categories; “Best Rap Song” and “Best New Artist”.

Saweetie faces a fierce competition in the “Best Rap Song” category, battling it out against Baby Keem, late DMX, Kanye West and J. Cole.

For “Best New Artist” category, she faces yet another challenging nominees; Arooj Aftab, Jimmie Allen, Baby Keem, Finneas, Glass Animals, Japanese Breakfast, The Kid Laroi, Arlo Parks, and Olivia Rodrigo.
