Ghanaian Twitter users are at it again and this time, it’s BET Award-winning rapper Sarkodie’s turn.

The SarkCess Music record label owner is doing everything possible to drive Ghanaians and Africa’s to support inventors from the continent but his latest attempt has backfired.

Sarkodie, in a tweet, on Saturday, June 23, called on Ghanaians to throw their weights behind local inventors. He tweeted:

“What is really stopping us from supporting our local(African) inventors??”

Immediately he tweeted, a Twitter user by username ‘Alaska_GH’ referred Sarkodie to his lyrics in “Kanta”, a diss song to fellow rapper M.anifest, which criticises the latter for wearing GTP, a Ghana made textile.

In the diss song which was released in 2016, Sarkodie claimed he would not accept a diss from a rapper (M.anifest) who wears ‘Kaba’ (blouse) made of GTP.

Alaska quoted Sarkode’s tweet, saying “But you dissed manifest for wearing GTP” and the tweet went viral with over 1,600 retweets and 1,400 likes.

Other fans chastised Sarkodie for his ‘double standard’ tweet.

And just Monday (June 25), M.anifestĀ responded to a 2016 tweet about purchasing more GTP cloths during his heated beef with Sarkodie.

In that year, a Twitter user by name Kay Maafo tweeted a photo of himself carrying GTP cloths with the caption: “Boss adey your gate @manifestive”.

M.anifest respondedĀ to that tweet yesterday with a photo of himself carrying a GTP cloth with the caption: “The thing you take come..
I receive am.. @kaymaafo. Thanks”.
