In the past few days, sizzling Ghanaian songstress, Wendy Shay has been trending on the various social media platforms following an unexpected response she gave to a question which invited her to make an expression of her identity.

In a post-gig interview, Multimedia’s MzGee approached Wendy Shay for an interview. In the course of the interview, the former asked the latter who she was, as a follow up question to an earlier question. Wendy Shay described the said question as dumb, and further requested the interview to be truncated.

There have been mixed reactions since an audiovisual excerpt of the interview surfaced online. Whilst some social media users are subjecting the songstress to severe trolling, others are also defending her action as appropriate.

Multiple award winning rapper, Sarkodie has also waded into the trending issue. The rapper, in a statement has pleaded with Ghanaians to forgive the Uber Driver hit maker. On Wendy Shay’s behalf, Sarkodie also apologized to the interviewer, MzGee.

The highly decorated rapper sought to justify why Wendy Shay reacted in the manner that she did. According to Sarkodie, artistes sometimes experience paranoia, where they become extra sensitive to almost everything, which could cause them to perceive good intentions or agenda as malicious or ill-motivated.
