Sarah-Jane Redmond is a British actor and acting instructor who now resides in Canada. She has been in theatre, television, and film projects, frequently playing characters from science fiction. When her father served in the Royal Air Force, he was stationed in Cyprus, where Redmond was born. When she was ten years old, her family relocated to the Lake District in England before immigrating to Canada.
She has directed theatrical productions and taught acting at the New Image College of Fine Arts in British Columbia. She has worked with scriptwriter Chris Carter, who has placed her in several of his television programs, on a number of parts. She gained the most fame for her role as Lucy Butler on Millennium (1997–1999).
In an episode of The X-Files, Redmond had her first television role. Through this, she met writer Chris Carter and director David Nutter, who later gave her a recurring position in the series Millennium and a role in the 2008 movie The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Her previous television roles have been in the science fiction series Smallville, The Outer Limits, Dark Angel, Harsh Realm, and Andromeda.
In Vancouver, British Columbia, Redmond also instructed acting at the New Image College of Fine Arts. She collaborated with fellow actor Frank Cassini to direct the college’s 2011 production of the Stephen Adly Guirgis drama The Last Days of Judas Iscariot when she was on the faculty.
