Barkley and his family relocated significantly to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in 2001 in search of a more secure and suburban setting. They finally made their home in the nearby town of Allentown before relocating to Coplay, Pennsylvania, in 2005, when Saquon’s path to football stardom began to take form.
Whitehall High School in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, where Saquon Barkley studied, is renowned for turning out a number of NFL and professional athletes. He left a lasting impression on the football field when he was there, rushing for an amazing 3,646 yards and scoring 63 touchdowns from his sophomore to senior year. His senior season alone saw him gain 1,856 yards and 31 touchdowns, establishing his legacy as a high school football standout.
Barkley’s outstanding talent and potential were recognized. He was rated a four-star prospect and committed to play collegiate football at Penn State. Interestingly, he initially committed to Rutgers before deciding on Penn State as his collegiate home.
