Santiago López Valdivielso was born in Valladolid on February 7, 1950, he was the son of Santiago López González, who was one of the promoters of the establishment of the Fasa Renault factory in Valladolid.
Santiago López Valdivielso had a degree in Law and combined his political career with his business activity. Between 1983 and 1986 he was attorney for Valladolid in the Cortes of Castilla y León.
