Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, a former Black Stars midfielder, has boldly predicted that Samartex 1996 is on track to secure the Ghana Premier League (GPL) title for the 2023/24 season.
The former Kotoko and Berekum Arsenal player attributed Samartex’s success to their strategic recruitment efforts for the season, stating that it has greatly boosted the team’s overall performance.
Speaking on Sunyani-based Services Radio, Agyemang Badu praised the team’s management for putting in place solid structures that have played a significant role in their current position at the top of the league standings.
“I believe Samartex will win the league. I am 98% confident that they will be crowned champions by the end of the season, even with just three games left to play,” he said.
He went on to highlight the team’s exceptional teamwork and tactical discipline as key factors contributing to their success, asserting, “If any team is going to win the league this year, it will be them, without a doubt.”
At the moment, the Timber giants are leading the GPL with 55 points and only have three matches remaining in the 2023/24 season. With their impressive performance so far, it seems increasingly likely that Agyemang Badu’s prediction might just come true.
