Sam Richardson, an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer, was born on January 12, 1984.
Most notably, he co-created and co-starred in the Comedy Central comedy series Detroiters (2017–2018) with Tim Robinson, played a variety of characters in the Netflix sketch series I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson (2019–present), and co-starred in the Apple TV+ series The Afterparty.

Richardson, the son of an African-American father and a Ghanaian mother, was born in Detroit on January 12, 1984. His aunt, Barbara-Rose Collins, was the first black woman elected to the US Congress from Michigan in 1990.
Richardson would visit Ghana, where his grandfather was a chief and prominent local politician, once or twice a year with his parents. He completed his studies in theater at Wayne State University after graduating from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy in 2002.
He is also best known for his role as Richard Splett in the HBO political comedy series Veep (2012–2019), which he played from 2012 to 2019. (2022). For his work in Ted Lasso, he was nominated in 2022 for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.
