In 2013, he Won 2 Taurus World Stunt Awards, Hardest Hit, and Best High Work – for his work on The Avengers as the Stunt Double for Captain America.
Before his film career, Sam worked at the 71 Gallery in Hillsborough, North Carolina, a framing shop famous for its Geek Boxes, which display action figures, toys, trophies, awards, and other collectibles. Director Joss Whedon was the recipient of one of these custom-designed items.
