The National Sports Authority (NSA) and popular musician Stonebwoy were involved in a financial dispute that was recently revealed by Honorable Sam George, the member of parliament for Ningo Prampram.
Over the Christmas holidays, Stonebwoy’s BHIM concert at the Accra Sports Stadium was the scene of the problem.
At first, the NSA claimed that Stonebwoy and his group had paid 70,000 Ghanaian Cedis to reserve the event space. But Hon. Sam George’s research revealed a noteworthy distinction.
Investigating further, it was discovered that Stonebwoy had, in fact, paid a lot more—169,000 Ghanaian Cedis—than the 70,000 Ghanaian Cedis that had been initially claimed.
This discovery raised worries and questions regarding the transparency of artists’ financial transactions with the NSA. Hon. Sam George’s investigation revealed a significant disparity, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability in financial transactions involving events held in public venues.
The mismatch not only raises questions, but it also emphasizes the need of honest financial reporting, particularly when it comes to public areas and events.
