Sam Bankman-Fried, the creator and former CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, was born on March 6, 1992.
Alameda Research, a quantitative bitcoin trading company, was also co-founded by him.

The 30-year-old entrepreneur does not have kids of his own currently. Bankman-Fried started working for Jane Street Capital, a proprietary trading company that deals in global exchange-traded funds, in 2013.
He moved away from Jane Street in September 2017 and settled in Berkeley, where he spent a short time working at the Centre for Effective Altruism. Together with Tara Mac Aulay from the Center, he established the quantitative trading company Alameda Research in November 2017.
In order to benefit from the rising price of bitcoin in Japan, Bankman-Fried devised an arbitrage trade in January 2018 that involved moving up to $25M per day.
He relocated to Hong Kong and established FTX, a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, in April 2019 after going to a cryptocurrency conference in Macau.
