Saint Osei, an integral member of the Accra Great Olympics management team, has officially announced his resignation from his position.
In a letter released on Wednesday, Osei expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Ghanaian football club and stated that he believed it was time for new leadership to take over.
Addressing the Board Chairman of Accra Great Olympics S.C. in his resignation letter, Osei commended the club’s Managing Director, Mr. Oloboi Commodore, for his dedication and hard work. Despite feeling regret at leaving the club during a challenging time, Osei felt that it was the right decision for him.
In an interview with Peace FM, Osei clarified that his resignation was not solely due to the club’s relegation. He stated, “Yes it is true it is not about our relegation I will still would have resigned even with our league status secured. I made up my mind to resign last season but some elders spoke to me so I had to stay on just for the love of the club.”
Osei also mentioned that some supporters of the club had expressed a desire for new management, further solidifying his decision to step down. Despite the challenges faced by the Dade Boys, Osei remained grateful for his time with the team.
Accra Great Olympics finished the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season in 16th place with 44 points. Osei’s resignation marks the end of an era for the club, as they now prepare for new leadership to guide them through future seasons.
