Ryu So-Yeon, commonly known as So Yeon Ryu, is a professional golfer from South Korea who competes on the LPGA Tour and the LPGA of Korea Tour. She was born on June 29, 1990.
She has two major titles, the 2011 U.S. Women’s Open and the 2017 ANA Inspiration. By winning her fifth LPGA Tour victory at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship on June 26, 2017, she became the 11th No. 1 rated golfer in the Rolex Rankings.

Chang Rhy’s father owns a golf simulation company in South Korea. Her only sister, So-Myund, raised her in Seoul, South Korea.
Ryu attended Yonsei University while competing full-time on the LPGA Tour. She earned a degree in sports business in February 2013.
Ryu made his professional debut in 2007 at the age of 17. Her maiden professional victory occurred in February 2008, on the American Cactus Tour, when she won by six strokes. She subsequently joined the LPGA of Korea, where she won her maiden event, the Sports Seoul Open.
