Ryu So-yeon, also known as So Yeon Ryu, is a South Korean professional golfer who competes on the LPGA Tour and the LPGA of Korea Tour. On June 29, 1990, she was born.
She has two major championships under her belt: the 2011 US Women’s Open and the 2017 ANA Inspiration. She became the 11th No. 1 rated golfer in the Rolex Rankings after capturing her fifth LPGA Tour victory at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship on June 26, 2017.

Her parents are Chang Ryu and Kwang Ja Cho. Ryu So-father Yeon owns and operates a golf simulation company. She has a younger sister who is a violinist named Somyung.
Ryu made her pro debut at the age of 17 in 2007. Her first professional victory came on the American Cactus Tour in February 2008, when she won by six strokes. She went on to play in the LPGA of Korea, where she won her first event, the Sports Seoul Open, in 2008.
