On November 17, 1989, Ryan Walsh Griffin, a quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League, was born. He was taken in a free agent signing in 2013 by the New Orleans Saints. He participated in collegiate football at Tulane. Griffin earned a Super Bowl ring while playing with the Buccaneers during the 2020 season.
Griffin signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent after the 2013 NFL Draft. The day of his release was August 31, 2013. On September 1, 2013, Griffin re-signed with the Saints practice squad.
Griffin was added to the active roster on October 22, 2013, but only after the St. Louis Rams gave him the opportunity to sign with them.
On September 2, 2014, the Saints reinstated kicker Shayne Graham to their 53-man roster in response to Griffin’s release. Griffin cleared waivers and was re-signed to the Saints practice squad on September 3, 2014. To make room for Griffin, linebacker Todd Davis was released from the practice squad.
Griffin was fired on September 5, 2015, in advance of the season’s first round of roster cuts.
