Born in Vilcha, Ruksandra represented Dacia Pitesti in the first league. After that, she moved to Greece, where she captained Panathinaikos (Athens) and won the MVP award for Greece in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. The Greeks removed her number 10 shirt out of respect for her announcement that she will no longer be playing volleyball.
After her return, she was employed as a coach with the exclusive Alpha Volleyball Sibiu club. Sadly, on Sunday night, her heart stopped for good.
