James Russell Watt was a rugby union player from New Zealand who died on June 26, 2022.

He proceeded on to play Southland and Wellington before his abilities were recognized by national selectors, and he made his debut in the black jersey against New South Wales in 1957.
The trip to South Africa with the All Blacks in 1960 was the pinnacle of his All Blacks career. Watt appeared in all 19 games and four tests.
Watt attended Otago Boys’ High School and played for the Dunedin Kaikorai club before making his debut for Otago in 1955.
