Rúben Dos Santos Gato Alves Dias (born 14 May 1997) is a center back for Manchester City of the Premier League and the Portugal national team. He is a professional football player from Portugal. He is regarded as one of the top defenders in the world and is well-known for his defensive skills, leadership, and shooting power.
In the 2020–21 UEFA Nations League on November 17, Dias scored his first goals for his country, scoring twice as Croatia was defeated 3-2.
He was chosen for the team to compete in the 2020 UEFA Euro.
On June 19, 2021, in a 2-4 defeat to Germany in the UEFA Euro 2020, he scored an own goal in the 35th minute.
He participated in every one of Portugal’s games before being eliminated in the round of 16 after Portugal’s 1-0 loss to Belgium.
He was a member of Portugal’s preliminary 55-man team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar in October 2022 and the tournament’s final 26-man team.
