The Royal Mint has unveiled some of its most rare and valuable 50p coins currently in circulation, with some fetching up to £165. These limited edition coins can sell for multiple times their face value, making them a lucrative find for coin collectors.

One such coin is the Kew Gardens 50p, which is the rarest of all the 50p pieces with only 210,000 in circulation.

Designed by Christopher Le Brun RA, the coin features the famous Chinese Pagoda with a leafy chamber twisting around the tower. The highest recent sale for this coin was £165 on February 27, showcasing its value among collectors.

Other notable 50p coins to look out for include the Triathlon, Judo, Wrestling, and Football coins, each with different mintages and values. The Triathlon coin, minted in 2011, has sold for up to £30 in the past, while the Judo coin, also from 2011, has gone for up to £29.

These coins are highly sought after by collectors due to their rarity and unique designs.
