Ghanaian international Ropapa Mensah continued his impressive form by scoring two goals to lead Chattanooga Red Wolves to a 3-1 victory over Richmond Kickers in a USL League One clash on Saturday.
Mensah wasted no time in making an impact as he found the back of the net just 40 seconds into the match after receiving a long pass from Leo Folla. Despite facing heavy contact from the Richmond goalkeeper, Mensah managed to score his fifth goal of the season with a header.
He added to his tally in the 10th minute when Owen Green and Ricky Ruiz combined well to set him up for a goal, doubling Chattanooga’s lead. Richmond Kickers fought back and managed to pull one back through Emiliano Terzaghi in the 26th minute, making the score 2-1.
However, Chattanooga sealed the victory in stoppage time when Chevone Marsh pounced on a rebound from Roberts to tap the ball past the Richmond goalkeeper, securing a dominant win for the Red Wolves.
This victory marks Chattanooga Red Wolves’ second consecutive home win of the season, showcasing their strong start to the campaign. With Mensah in fine form, the team will be looking to build on this momentum and continue their success in the USL League One.
