Roland Joseph White a Shaper of Bluegrass and Country-Rock Dies at 83 on April 1, 2022. White was an American bluegrass music artist, performing principally on the mandolin.
He was born in Madawaska, Maine on April 23, 1938. His wife, Diane Bouska confirmed his death in a hospital after a recent heart attack.
White formed a band group including himself, his two brothers (Clarence and Eric), and his sister (Joanne), where they performed locally. His family later moved to California, where the group won a talent show on a local radio station.
Television station later hired him and his brothers as The Country Boys.

Joanne White is the only sister of the White brothers, Roland, Eric, and Clearance. She was part of their bluegrass band that was popular during the American folk music revival of the early 1960s. Formed in Burbank, California in 1954, where the group released two albums.
