Rodney Alan “The Sheriff” Buford, born November 2, 1977, is a retired professional basketball player from the United States who most recently played for the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada.

In the second round (53rd overall) of the 1999 NBA Draft, the Miami Heat selected Buford as a player from Creighton University.
Buford left the Heat for Basket Rimini in Italy to start the season after receiving limited playing time in his first campaign. He signed on with the Philadelphia 76ers in December of 2000 for the coming season.
The Sacramento Kings, New Jersey Nets, and Memphis Grizzlies followed after that. Buford scored 6.4 points per game on average during his NBA career.
Buford went on a foreign trip to represent the Panathinaikos BC of Greece in the 2002–03 season. He joined the Israeli basketball team Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Euroleague to start the 2006–07 basketball season but was let go in December due to behavior infractions and subpar performance.
