Teamer was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he graduated from Brother Martin High School. As a senior, he was named first-team All-Metro and first-team All-State after racking up 116 tackles, two interceptions, and a sack.

Teamer was a four-year member of the Tulane Green Wave. He started at cornerback near the end of his freshman season. In his junior season, he had 48 tackles (3.5 for loss), two passes were broken up, a blocked kick, and a fumble recovery that he returned 52 yards for a touchdown.
Teamer was named second-team All-American Athletic Conference as a senior after finishing second on the team with 72 tackles, six passes broken up, and an interception. In 46 games, he finished his collegiate career with 197 tackles, 15 passes defended, three interceptions, and three sacks. On June 3, 2021, Teamer signed with the Las Vegas Raiders. On October 20, 2021, he was placed on injured reserve. On November 20, he was activated.
