Herneitha Rochelle Richardson, Lynnette Hardaway’s sister, was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina in 1970.
Their parents were televangelist preachers who sold anti-witchcraft materials, and the sisters went on to build their own media presence as “Diamond” and “Silk” on YouTube.
Their channel initially advocated the Black Lives Matter movement and denounced police brutality, and they were still Democrats in 2012, but in 2015, they shifted their party allegiance to Republicans in order to vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.
They advocated anti-immigrant, anti-BLM, anti-progressive, and conspiratorial beliefs and became YouTube and Facebook celebrities among the American right wing.
They appeared at Trump rallies and then became Fox News contributors until Fox fired them in 2020 for spreading coronavirus conspiracy theories regarding 5G towers.
