He was introduced to tennis by his mother when he was five years old. His mother signed him up to play on the weekends and he has been playing tennis to date. He is now a professional tennis player who turned pro in 2005 and has been ranked as high as world No. 9 by the Association of Tennis Professionals in singles, which he first achieved on 4 November 2019.
