Sir Robert James Buckland KBE QC is a British politician who has been the Secretary of State for Wales since July 20, 2022. From 2019 to 2021, he was Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor.
He has been the Conservative Party’s Member of Parliament (MP) for South Swindon since 2010.
Buckland was born in Llanelli, Wales on September 22, 1968.

In the 2022 Political Honours, he was named Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE).
On 7 July 2022, he was reinstated into Johnson’s cabinet as Secretary of State for Wales, succeeding Simon Hart.
Buckland changed his support for Rishi Sunak to Liz Truss in the 2022 Conservative Party leadership election in an article published in The Daily Telegraph on August 13.
Prime Minister Liz Truss reappointed him on September 6, 2022.
