Robert Blake, who was well-known for his work in “In Cold Blood” and “Baretta,” has passed away, according to his niece. He was 89.
According to a statement from Blake’s representative that ABC News acquired, Blake “went away peacefully surrounded by family by his side in Los Angeles.”
The family is yet to communicate the funeral and burial details to the public.

The actor, who has played numerous characters on television and in movies, is also well-known for having been exonerated of murdering his second wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, in 2001 after forensic evidence established that he did not fire the murder weapon. Two key witnesses who testified against Blake at the time were likewise unreliable.
As a youngster, Blake began acting. According to his representative, Blake first caught the eye of casting directors when he was just 5 years old. After making his debut in the 1939 film “Bridal Suite,” he went on to star in the “Our Gang” short film series, which launched a career that included more than 200 film roles.
