Tragic events have befallen the family of late New Patriotic Party (NPP) luminary Albert Adu Boahen, as his son Christopher Adu Boahen was slain after being robbed at his East Legon, an Accra suburb.
According to a report from Asaaseradio.com, he was killed by armed thieves who forced their way into his house, ransacked it thoroughly, and took his life.
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where Christopher studied electrical engineering, was mentioned in the report via a Facebook post made by the class of 1995.
We regret to inform you of the unexpected death of Christopher, a classmate. Evil people broke into his house, looted everything, and took his life.
The police have closed and designated his East Legon house as a crime scene.
“May the Lord grant our brother’s soul rest. “Sad news for a Monday morning, but let’s stay positive and anticipate an amazing week,” the post announcing Christopher Adu Boahen’s passing said.
Christopher Adu Boahen came from a well-known political family; during Ghana’s Fourth Republic democratic transition in 1992, his father ran as the NPP’s first presidential candidate.
He was also the brother of Charles Adu Boahen, who served in the Akufo-Addo government as the Ministry of Finance’s minister of state and deputy minister of finance.
November 2022 saw Charles Adu Boahen’s resignation from government service.
