After resting at Waipatu Marae in Heretaunga/Hastings on Sunday, his body will be flown in an air force Hercules plane to Christchurch on Monday, arriving back at Te Pā Mihinare on Ferry Road by mid-afternoon.
On Wednesday at 11 am, there will be a Eucharist Service at the Transitional Cathedral. Later that evening, there will be a trip to Wairewa/Little River for the pō whakamutunga. The funeral service, known as karakia mo te rā nehu, will then happen on Thursday at 11 a.m.
