Richard Michael Genelle, an actor and entrepreneur who passed suddenly on December 30, 2008, is best known for playing Ernie on the children’s television program Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
From 1993 to 1997, Genelle portrayed Ernie, the affable owner of the Angel Grove Youth Center, the most popular hangout for children in Angel Grove. He routinely hosted birthday celebrations, martial arts tournaments, neighbourhood fundraising events, and school festivities. He not only gave his customers free food and drink but also helped them when they needed it. After four seasons, Ernie abruptly departed the Youth Center to help with a problem in South America, and Jerome Stone took over as the new owner.
Genelle gained weight after quitting smoking in real life, but he was able to lose over 40 pounds as a result. In order to offer transportation services, he founded Retail Logistics Solutions, Inc. in Cerritos, California.
At the age of 47, Genelle passed away after a heart attack on December 30, 2008. In Riverside, California’s Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, he was laid to rest. There in the cemetery, he was laid to rest.
