One video in particular seemed to hit a chord with followers among the flood of tributes to late movie legend Paul Sorvino, who passed away Monday at the age of 83 from natural causes: a video showing the “Goodfellas” actor threatening to kill Harvey Weinstein, the notorious Hollywood mogul.
The old clip received 126,000 Twitter views as many praised the late actor on social media for fending off predators.
Sorvino received appreciation on social media for his pro-women attitude.
One adoring follower on Twitter exclaimed, “F-king legend!!” and added, “Wish more men thought and behaved like this!!” in a subsequent tweet.
One Sorvino follower gushed, “Harvey would have swum with the fishes,” while another exclaimed, “A man stands up for women!”
In other parts of the conversation, Sorvino spoke about the horrifying claimed occurrence.
In 2017, Sorvino, then 54, told The New Yorker that Weinstein, 65, had attempted to massage her and “chased her around” a hotel room in 1995.
A few weeks later, he invited himself to her apartment, bypassing her doorman, and wouldn’t leave until a friend she had asked to pose as her boyfriend showed up, according to Sorvino.
