Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp (August 19, 1983 – February 14, 2013) was a South African model and paralegal. She modeled for FHM magazine and was the first South African face of Avon cosmetics. Steenkamp previously worked as a live roaming presenter for FashionTV in South Africa and appeared in television commercials for Toyota Land Cruiser, Clover “The One”, Redds, and Aldor Pin Pop. In 2012, she appeared as a celebrity participant on the BBC Lifestyle shows Baking Made Easy, and in February 2013, she appeared on Tropika Island of Treasure season 5, which aired on SABC 3.

Steenkamp was born in Cape Town to horse trainer Barry Steenkamp and his second wife, June (Marshall, formerly Cowburn), who was born in Blackburn, England. Adam Steenkamp and Simone Cowburn, her father’s and mother’s prior marriages, gave her two elder half-siblings.
After that, the family relocated to Port Elizabeth, where she attended St Dominic’s Priory School. She went on to study law at the University of Port Elizabeth, which later became Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Laws degree in 2005.
Steenkamp worked as a paralegal and a model after graduating from university. She applied to the bar in late 2011 with the goal of becoming a qualified legal advocate before the age of 30.
