The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has issued a warning over a phony Facebook account that appears to be a recruitment scam.

Based on information provided by the provider, the suspect calls 0532410095.

GNFS stated in a statement that it is neither recruiting nor has it employed any agents or individuals to do so on its behalf.

The Service has promised that, upon receiving approval for hiring, it will first place an advertisement in national newspapers outlining the guidelines and conditions that must be followed.

“Remain alert and avoid falling for these fraudulent recruitment schemes on social media, since GNFS will not use these platforms to promote its recruitment or enrollment drive.

“Do not pay any money  to anyone  but report  these fraudulent pages on social media and unscrupulous individuals to the relevant Security Agencies for swift action,” the service admonished.

The general public is advised to contact GNFS with any questions by calling 0299341436 between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

“For genuine updates on the GNFS, please follow us on Facebook at Ghana National Fire Service with 66K+ ONLY,” it stated.
