Rapper AI dropped by label due to racial stereotypes

After complaints that it included racist stereotypes, including frequent use of the N-word, a record label severed connections with an AI rapper.

An artificial intelligence musician named FN Meka has been given the look of a black man cyborg.

The rapper’s deal, however, resulted in criticism for Capitol Music Group (CMG).

CMG expressed its “sincere apologies to the black community for our insensitivity” in a statement announcing their breakup.

More than 500,000 people subscribe to FN Meka’s Spotify service each month, and its TikTok account currently has more than one billion views.

More than 220,000 people follow it on Instagram, which has since been turned private.

Anthony Martini, one of the cofounders of Factory New, the organization in charge of the AI, claims that FN Meka’s songs are sung by an unidentified black man.

Industry Blackout urged that the AI rapper provide a public apology and be taken off of all platforms.

Additionally, they desire that any revenues go to CMG-accredited black musicians and organizations that encourage black youth in the arts.
