Raphaël Adelino José Guerreiro, a professional footballer who plays left defense or midfield for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and the Portugal national team, was born on December 22, 1993.
He started his career at Caen before joining Lorient in 2013, where he made his Ligue 1 debut. Borussia Dortmund welcomed him in June 2016.
France-born Guerreiro made his senior debut in 2014 and has since represented Portugal at both the under-21 and senior levels. He played for them in two World Cups, two European Championships, and the 2016 Euro winner.
Guerreiro was also selected for the UEFA Euro 2020 team. He scored the first goal in the 3-0 triumph against Hungary in the opening match of the group, but he then scored an own goal in the 4-2 defeat to Germany.
Guerreiro was picked to the final FIFA World Cup team in November 2022. He scored his team’s fourth goal on December 6 in a 6-1 round-of-16 defeat of Switzerland in Lusail.
