On July 19, 1974, Ramin Djawadi, a German-Iranian film composer, was born in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia. He is most known for writing the music for the critically acclaimed HBO series Game of Thrones as well as the Marvel movies Blade: Trinity, Iron Man, and Eternals.
He has worked on films like Pacific Rim, Westworld, Medal of Honor, Jack Ryan, Warcraft, A Wrinkle in Time, Gears of War 4 and 5, Gears of War 5, and Open Seasons 1 and 2. He won two Emmys for Game of Thrones.
For the sole purpose of performing the music from the Game of Thrones television series, Ramin is the first television composer in history to tour with a live orchestra. Ramin was praised by critics, musicians, and viewers alike throughout his time on the show, but it wasn’t until The Winds of Winter, the season 6 finale, that he gained widespread recognition.
