Since joining Mercedes this year, George Russell has been in the top five in every race so far, and has finished ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton in the last four; Spanish GP.
However, George is no better than Hamilton, who will compete in a record-breaking 23 races in 2022.
Is George Russell better than Lewis Hamilton?
Russell, who joined Mercedes this year, has excelled in silver, finishing in the top five in every race despite the team’s lack of speed, and is comfortably ahead of Hamilton in the drivers’ standings.
Russell, 24, has also defeated F1’s seven-time champion in the last four races, prompting Sky Sports F1’s Martin Brundle to write in his current column that the 24-year-old is thriving in comparison to Hamilton.
Russell has not only been quick, but also respectful of Hamilton. Many expected Russell vs Hamilton to be a fiery rivalry, reminiscent to Nico Rosberg’s stint at Mercedes, after replacing Valtteri Bottas, but the pair have gotten along well and raced fairly on the track thus far.
