Quinn Redeker, well known for his role as the nefarious Alex Marshall on Days of Our Lives, died of natural causes on December 20. He was 86.
Arianne Raser, Redeker’s daughter, confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter late Monday.
In addition to playing Days’ Alex from 1978 to 1987, Redeker also played Young and the Restless con artist Rex Sterling from 1987 to 1994. He was nominated for two Daytime Emmys for his performance on the latter soap.
Throughout his five-decade career, Redeker dabbled in screenwriting. His tale idea inspired the Oscar-winning picture The Deer Hunter, which was released in 1978.
In addition, Redeker appeared as a guest star on a number of TV shows, including Harry’s Law, CSI: Miami, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Starsky & Hutch, The Bob Newhart Show, The Six Million Dollar Man, Barnaby Jones, and Bonanza.
