Elizabeth II reigned as Queen of the United Kingdom from February 6, 1952, until September 8, 2022.

Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British queen and the second-longest of any sovereign country’s ruler.

Queen Elizabeth’s coffin, draped in the Scottish royal flag and adorned with a wreath of dahlias, sweet peas, phlox, white heather, and pine fir, departed Balmoral Castle for the final time today.

Meanwhile, her grandsons, William and Harry, along with their wives, strolled on the grounds of Windsor Castle to greet the throng, marking the royal couples’ first combined public appearance since Elizabeth’s death on Thursday, according to the BBC.

According to The Associated Press, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, visited Prince William and his wife Catherine at Windsor Castle to examine flower tributes left by the public in honor of the late queen.

Elizabeth’s remains will be carried to St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh on Monday. The coffin will be carried from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to the church in a procession led by King Charles III and members of the royal family.
