Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, praised his team’s defensive strength as they secured a 2-0 victory over Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium. Steven Mukwala was the hero of the day, scoring two goals to seal the win for the Porcupine Warriors in match week 31 of the Ghana Premier League.
Ogum highlighted the importance of a solid defensive structure and discipline in securing the win, stating, “I think before the game I told you the team with a good defensive structure and good discipline will be able to carry the day.” He added, “Observing them play most of their matches, we realized that we need to contain them and then catch them on the break.”
The win sees Asante Kotoko climb to ninth place in the league standings with 43 points, while Hearts of Oak sit in 14th place with 38 points, just two points above the relegation zone.
