Alexander Atieku will be immediately moved from his position as the head of the Central Regional NSA to the Eastern Region, per a directive from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), which is chaired by the Honorable James Klutse Avedzi.

During Professor Twumasi’s testimony at the PAC hearing about his interactions with the NSA in the year under review, this directive was given.

The PAC Chair chastised the NSA Director General for his part in blocking Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif’s directive to move Alexander Atieku from the Central Region to the Eastern Region following a contentious questioning session.

Respected members, the Minister gave the Director General the order to move Mr. Atieku. The DG purposefully put the heading “Transfer to Head Office” and the body of the letter “Transfer to Eastern Region” in the same letter. It is totally disrespectful to the minister that the DG went behind that letter and spoke with Mr. Atieku about not honouring the transfer.

This group Our stance, I believe, is that Mr. Atieku ought to relocate right away to the Eastern Region, and as Director General, you are directed by this committee to see to it that Mr. Atieku is transferred to his new location. Perform that right away and get back to us. Since his appointment as NSA Director General in 2018, Professor Twumasi has fulfilled his role.
