The running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has issued a warning to Ghanaians about the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 slogan, “It is possible.”
She believes that the ruling party is incapable of fulfilling its promises and cited recent events as evidence of their shortcomings.
Speaking at an engagement with female media professionals in Accra, Prof Opoku-Agyemang criticized the NPP’s track record, particularly referencing the picketing by pensioner bondholders at the Finance Ministry demanding the release of their monies.
She urged Ghanaians to carefully assess the NPP’s promises and consider the reality of their delivery before making electoral decisions. She emphasized that recent events, such as pensioners picketing at the Ministry of Finance, highlight the need for scrutiny.
Furthermore, Prof Opoku-Agyemang dismissed criticisms that the NDC lacks ideas and vision for effective governance if elected. She emphasized the inclusive nature of the party’s manifesto, stating that it considers the perspectives of various groups, including journalists and women.
