Produce dumsor timetable if it exists- Matthew Opoku Prempeh fumes

Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Minister of Energy, has been the talk of the town following his statements on recurring power outages.

He is no stranger to provocative views on big national problems, having already made statements in the education sector and after a natural catastrophe “under his belt.”

In a recent contentious statement, NAPO, as he is known, disputed that Ghana was suffering ‘dumsor’, which are interruptions that need the publication of a timetable by the power distributor, the Electricity Company of Ghana.

He told reporters over the weekend: “Ask those who want it to bring it, if there is. I have not seen any timeframe.”

NAPO originally disputed that the country had reverted to the days of dumsor, citing the country’s unreliable power supply under John Dramani Mahama.

In four years, the NPP administration’s energy sector outperformed John Mahama’s by 300 times. It’s considerably superior to what John Mahama accomplished…

“I’ve promised you that we are going to work on it and it’s not a work that is a single event; it’s a process, and we’ll continue to work on it for the energy sector to become better,” he said.
