President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has today July 7 cut the sod for the construction of the Pokuase interchange.
As part of his campaign promises to provide Ghana with better road networks the President today initiated the beginning of the interchange.
The government of Ghana and the African Development Bank (AfDB) signed an agreement for the Accra Urban Transport Project, which includes the construction of a three-tier interchange at Pokuase on the Accra-Nsawam road.
The project will cost $94million. Out of this, the AfDB will provide about $83million and the remaining $11.7m will come from the government of Ghana.
The interchange is expected to ease traffic flow considerably and shorten travel time for commuters.
