Energy Expert and New Patriotic Party (NPP) manifesto committee member, Kwadwo Poku, has given an update on the power situation in the country, stating that there has been a significant improvement.
Speaking on TV3’s Key Points, he acknowledged that there are still localized issues causing power cuts in some parts of the Greater Accra region.
According to Mr. Poku, recent power outages in Tema were due to a power trip but overall, the power situation has improved greatly. He assured Ghanaians that the power cuts experienced in various parts of the country will be resolved before the end of April. He mentioned that maintenance work by the Electricity Company of Ghana and the West Africa Gas Pipe Line Company had temporarily reduced gas flow to Ghana, contributing to the power challenges.
Mr. Poku emphasized that the government is aware of the issues and is working to fix them. He expressed confidence that the current situation will be resolved within two weeks and assured that the country will not enter April with ongoing power problems.
He stressed that the authorities are capable of addressing the challenges and restoring stable power supply to the nation.
